BODY HORROR is a horror subgenre that centers on grotesque, psychologically disturbing violations and transformations of the human body through mutation, disease, parasitism, mutilation, invasion, contagion, or unnatural distortions. It evokes visceral disgust, loss of bodily autonomy, and the primal fear of deformity or the uncanny valley, where flesh is unreliable, invasive, or hybrid, exploring themes of identity, control, and the boundaries of humanity.

HORROR VACUI, Latin for “fear of empty space,” is an art style in which the entire surface of a work is densely packed with intricate details, patterns, figures, ornamentation, text, or motifs. It deliberately avoids negative space or voids to create a claustrophobic, overwhelming, and often hypnotic visual intensity, evoking sensations of suffocation, overabundance, or hallucinatory psychological compulsion.
